You can connect from any computers or tablets or even game console. Access Point is infrastructure mode with WPA2 security. FoxFi usage is covered under the same phone data plan you have and no tether plan needed. This saves you $20/month from your carrier.

The free version now has a usage limit that requires you to restart FoxFi to continue using free mode. You can purchase the full version key to unlock this.

Currently WiFi mode does not work on most phones with Jelly Bean (except for a few models) and most HTC phones (except for HTC One). However Bluetooth mode works for all phones. To check and see if WiFi mode can be supported on your phone visit

Here are some tips to help your usage:
1. On some models if you run into WiFi problem after using the Hotspot, simply reboot your phone and rename the hotspot before activating to clear the issue.
2. For some Samsung phones if your computer is not able to get an IP address, try to turn on WiFi on the phone first and make sure it does not connect to any WiFi network, then turn on FoxFi.
3. FoxFi is tested on non-rooted phones. If your phone has a rooted ROM it may or may not work.
4. When WiFi hotspot is activated you may also see a hotspot notification of the built-in WiFi hotspot feature. Please ignore it. As long as you do not sign up for a tether plan you won't be charged.
5. If you enter or change the hotspot password, make sure you rename the hotspot also before activating.
6. Sometimes Windows need a "repair" on the WiFi menu to get a correct IP address.
7. If you install the FoxFi AddOn app, you will also be able to hide tether usage by setting a proxy server address in the computer browser.

1.02 will create an app icon specifically for the Full Version Key.
This icon wasn't created in 1.01 because full version users don't really need it and are supposed to use the main FoxFi app.
However some buyers are confused after the purchase so we will just have to leave it in

New version adds a USB tethering capability from PdaNet in case WiFi mode is blocked by your carrier's phone updates.
USB mode works for ALL Android phones. Also faster and more stable.
Again you do not need a tether plan (otherwise this software will be meaningless).
It WiFi mode prompts you for a tether plan that would mean it is blocked and you should use USB mode or Bluetooth mode instead.
If you have T-mobile, you should use USB mode with "Hide Tether Usage" enabled.

No full key is required

What's in this version:
Jelly Bean is now supported in the latest build if you have Droid Razr/Maxx/HD, Droid 4, Verizon Galaxy Nexus/S3/Note II. Sorry for the delay! We are slowly adding more phones.
Again you do not need a tether plan (otherwise this software will be meaningless). It WiFi mode prompts you to call your carrier that means FoxFi has failed and you should use USB mode or Bluetooth mode instead.
If you have T-mobile, you should use USB mode with "Hide Tether Usage" enabled.

For some Jelly Bean phones FoxFi will ask you to install a certificate. When you do that Android system will require you to set a screen lock first. Please see description about this.
Update: 2.12.7 fixes crashes when entering serial, also "fail to decode" error.

What's in this version:
Verizon Galaxy S4 only: the latest firmware update show you a message for tether plan and FoxFi 2.13 stops that but will require you to setup a phone lock and install a certificate. See descriptions if you would rather live with the Verizon message and avoid the phone lock.
WiFi mode now supported for Verizon phones with Jelly Beans: Droid Razr, Razr Maxx,Razr Maxx HD,Razr M,Droid 4,HTC DNA, Samsung Galaxy S4, S3, Note II or Nexus.

WiFi mode currently will not work if you have updated your phone to Android 4.4 (KitKat). Please use USB/Bluetooth mode instead.
Galaxy S3, S4 and Note 2, 3: WiFi mode issue has been fixed and will also work with the 4.3 update (not 4.4!) from Verizon (not AT&T). There is also a way to remove the lock screen if you don't like it, please see descriptions!

What's in this version:
WiFi mode is now supported on Verizon Samsung phones updated to Android 4.4 (KitKat). That includes Galaxy S5/S4/S3 and Note 4/3/2. We do not have a solution for other models so please stay with USB/Bluetooth mode for now.
