Info: By default, the HTC Dream and Magic run at either 245 MHz or 384 MHz. On Android 1.5, frequency scaling is implemented, allowing for a "maximum" frequency of 384 MHz and a "minimum" frequency of 245 MHz. Even though by default Android supports only these two speeds, the phones' processor, the Qualcomm MSM7201A, is actually designed for running at up to 528 MHz. This means that, under normal conditions, the phone is running at only about 73% of its full potential. By increasing the speed to 528 MHz, the phone's performance increases dramatically. Additonally, by decreasing the speed, the phone's battery will last longer.
